Description:

The Department of Anthropology at the University of Texas, Austin, invites
applications for a position in linguistic anthropology at the rank of
Associate Professor beginning Fall 2015. We welcome applicants with a strong
record of research funding and ethnographic fieldwork, application of
linguistic theories and methods to questions in anthropology with broad
sociocultural implications, and theoretical innovation. Specialty and
geographical area are open.

The selected candidate will be expected to teach both undergraduate and
graduate courses, develop a strong research program, direct graduate research,
demonstrate evidence of successful research productivity, and exhibit a
commitment to service to the department, college, and university. Salary is
competitive and dependent on qualifications and experience. Position funding
is pending budgetary approval. Background check conducted on applicant
selected.

Qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in hand and an established reputation of high
quality research and scholarly production as well as have a demonstrated
record as an effective classroom teacher at the undergraduate and graduate
levels.
