Description:

The Department of English at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) boasts an outstanding faculty who are internationally recognized for their work in Applied English Linguistics. Ranked within the top 40 Departments of English in the world and within the top five in Asia (QS Rankings, 2013), the Department of English at CUHK is currently seeking outstanding postgraduate students with research interests that complement those of the faculty.

In conjunction with the Hong Kong government, the Department of English is able to offer full funding for study through two mechanisms:
- Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme 
The Fellowship provides a monthly stipend of HK$20,000 and a conference travel allowance of HK$10,000 per year. The application deadline is December 1, 2014.

- General Admission RPG Studentships (MPhil / PhD)
The current monthly stipend for a Postgraduate Studentship is HK$14,000-14,490 per month. Prospective applicants are advised to submit their application materials before January 31, 2015 to be considered for 2015-2016 admission.
