John Benjamins Publishing is pleased to announce that Lindsay Whaley (Dartmouth College) will join Ekkehard König (Free University Berlin/Albert Ludwigs University, Freiburg) as a managing editor of the journal Studies in Language as of volume 39:3 (2015). She will replace Balthasar Bickel (University of Zurich) who will stay on as a member of the board.

Studies in Language (SL) provides a forum for the discussion of issues in contemporary linguistics, with a particular focus on empirically well-grounded research in the functionalist tradition that recognizes the diversity and variability of human languages and of communication patterns, the historical dynamics of languages, and the embedding of language in both social practices and cognition. All submissions are subject to double-blind reviewing.
