P-ToBI is now available online as a new set of tools for the transcription of Portuguese prosody: http://labfon.letras.ulisboa.pt/InAPoP/P-ToBI/ .

The web site includes the Portuguese transcription system (tonal representation, phrasing, and annotation conventions), a brief course on prosody, a training section for learners of the P-ToBI system and a list of resources on prosodic variation (with a focus on Portuguese).

P-ToBI is a system for the transcription of the intonational and prosodic grammar of Portuguese. The system was developed within the autosegmental-metrical model of intonational phonology. It represents the current state of our knowledge of the intonational and prosodic phonology of the language, drawing on a large empirical database comprising several European and Brazilian varieties (and also a few data on African varieties) and including data from various speech styles.

For comments and questions, please contact the P-ToBI developers at labfon at letras.ulisboa.pt .
