The central aim of this research will be to analyze texts produced by individuals affected by mental disorders in the web (blogs, social networks) in the light of the Conceptual Metaphor Theory (CMT) cf. Lakoff & Johnson (1980), Lakoff (1991, 1993), Gibbs (1994). Other topics at the crossroads of CMT and the Information and Knowledge Society can also be proposed by those applying to the position.

Both distance and full-time face-to-face positions are offered but only the latter are eligible for scholarships –on a competitive basis. The maximum duration of the internship is 4 years. This line of research is associated to the “Information and Knowledge Society Doctoral Programme”. This proposal is part of the research line “Culture, Society and Language” supported by the “Interuniversity Research Group in Linguistic Applications (GRIAL)'' –officially recognised as a consolidated research group by the Government of Catalonia (2014).

Detailed information and requirements to apply for the scholarships can be found in the link below. Candidates who are not citizens of English-speaking countries are required to accredit their level of English as equal to or higher than level B2 in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
