Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor is needed to expand an innovative and growing Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and literacy programs beginning August 2016.  Responsibilities will include teaching a full-time undergraduate and graduate course load per semester; supervising clinical-based program experiences; supervising graduate projects; and providing service to the department, university, and the profession.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (for appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor) or ABD (for appointment as Instructor) in TESOL, Second Language Acquisition, Applied Linguistic, or equivalent field; additional degree or significant coursework in literacy; teaching experience in grades 5-12 schools; knowledge of and experience with multicultural populations.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in TESOL/ESL education, experience teaching/focus in urban/multicultural education, scholarly productivity in language and literacy in middle and/or secondary education, experience teaching hybrid or fully online as well as face-to-face courses, experience with school-university partnerships, and integration of new media literacies in the classroom.
