Abstract:

The Sprachatlas von Unterfranken zum Dialekt und Dialektverhalten junger
Erwachsener (JuSUF) (Linguistic Atlas of Lower Franconia on the Dialects and
Use of Dialects of Young Adults) is a follow-up project to the Sprachatlas von
Unterfranken (SUF) (Linguistic Atlas of Lower Franconia). It is the first
project based on the Bayerischer Sprachatlas (Bavarian Linguistic Atlas) that
comprehensively lists and documents the dialect of the young generation within
a single government district. In a total of 161 cards, it depicts the
differences and similarities between the dialect of young adults and the
actual dialect of the region as recorded for the SUF. 114 single word cards
show specific changes in individual local dialects and in the use language by
individuals, while 47 combined cards provide a systematic insight into
processes that allow general conclusions to be made about changes in language.
