The 4th BUiD International Conference on Current Trends in Teacher Education 

The British University in Dubai is pleased to announce the 4th BUiD International Conference on Current Trends in Teacher Education which will take place on Thursday 14th May and Friday 15th May, 2015. This two day conference is designed to enable participants to share research experiences and explore good practice, in order to further develop the source of knowledge in the field of teacher education. An envisioned outcome of the conference is to investigate how learning experiences for those involved in teacher education, can best be maximized, at whatever level, and to allow participants to reflect on current practice.

Call for Papers:

Deadline for submission of papers: 15 March 2015

This conference invites papers that investigate one or more of the following streams:
 
1) Cultural Conceptualization and Language (e.g. intercultural education, pragmatics, multilingualism, biliteracy).... 
2) Lifelong Learning ( e.g. open and distance learning, pursuit of knowledge for personal and professional development,  learning skills and strategies for older students, language development, impairment, attrition, and loss ).
3) Teacher Development (e.g. teacher reflection, appraisal and identity), ....
4) Research Relevant to the Language Classroom (e.g. psycholinguistics, language acquisition and learning, language testing and assessment, language teaching methodology, language curriculum development, language program evaluation)....
 
Types of Presentations:

Participants are invited to submit abstracts of papers or workshops to the conference Programme Committee.

Papers:

Paper presentations on any of the themes listed above are invited. The paper presenters are kindly asked to restrict their presentations to 30 minutes followed by 5 minutes for discussion led by the chair of the session, and Q&A as well. Each session will therefore have a total duration of 35 minutes.

Workshops:

Workshop sessions must include active audience participation through experiencing and discussing tasks provided by the workshop facilitator. Workshop sessions will be 35 minutes.

Criteria for Acceptance:

All abstracts will be blind reviewed by the Advisory Board. Relevance to the themes of the conference and originality of approach are key considerations in the acceptance of papers and workshops.
