Meeting Description:

The International Association for Forensic Phonetics and Acoustics (IAFPA) was formally established in York, England, in 1991 with the name The International Association for Forensic Phonetics (IAFP). It seeks to:

1. Foster research and provide a forum for the interchange of ideas and information on practice, development and research in forensic phonetics and acoustics, and
2. Set down and enforce standards of professional conduct and procedure for those involved in forensic phonetic and acoustic casework

Call for Papers:

Abstracts are invited for the 24th annual conference of the International Association for Forensic Phonetics and Acoustics (IAFPA) in Leiden, the Netherlands in 2015. We welcome abstracts on topics such as:
 
- Speaker identification/comparison 
- Speech and audio enhancement 
- Transcriptions 
- Speaker profiling 
- Disputed utterances 
- Voice line-ups 
- Authentication of recordings 
- LADO (Language analysis for the determination of origin) 
- Automatic speaker recognition/comparison 
- Retrieval of speaker population data 
- Interesting case reports 

We are considering a special session on experiences with the combination of auditory-acoustic analysis and the results of an automatic speaker recognition/comparison system. Abstracts on this topic are particularly welcome.
 
This is not a complete list and other topics would be welcome if they promote the aims of IAFPA (cf. www.iafpa.net).
