Meeting Description:

We are pleased to announce the 8th Athens Postgraduate Conference of the Faculty of Philology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The 8th ACP is addressed to all postgraduate and PhD students in Linguistics worldwide.

Αs mentioned above, this is the 8th biennial consecutive conference, a well-established tradition, among postgraduate and PhD students, of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. 

It is an effort of the Faculty’s postgraduate students to give the opportunity to their colleagues from Greece, Europe or elsewhere to present their work and meet other fellow colleagues. Thus, PhD candidates could receive constructive feedback regarding their research while postgraduate students get the opportunity to present their research in a friendly environment while enhancing their skills in the presentation of their work. 

Moreover, the major benefit for all the Conference participants is that we all get a chance to interact with the current international research trends, since it is us shaping these trends.

The main sections of this conference are, namely: 

- Byzantine Philology 
- Classical Philology 
- Folkloristics 
- Linguistics
- Medieval and Modern Greek Philology 

Each department had specified the modules of each field in advance in order for the research range to be reduced.

Please note that all postgraduate students who are registered in a Master's program or a PhD have the opportunity to participate in this conference.

Call for Papers:

You are invited to present your unpublished work in one of the following disciplines within the topics that have been appointed by each department. 

Send your abstract exclusively at the following email address: abstract.submission.phil.acp at gmail.com  

Οn your email on the Subject field you must only mention the department to which you are addressing your abstract. For any further questions regarding the abstract submission you can communicate with the organizing committee via the same email address. 

- The duration of each announcement is restricted to twenty minutes (20') following a five (5') to ten minutes (10') discussion. 
- Participants are requested to send in a signed and an anonymous copy of their abstract. 
- Announcement languages: Greek and English. 
- For team works (2+) the maximum number of speakers at the podium is two (2).

Abstract submission deadline: 10 April
Notification of acceptance: 26-30 April 

Any announcements and posters presented at the conference will be published, following an evaluation by the Proceedings Committee.
