Positions in Syntax and in Semantics at CUNY Graduate Center

The MA/PhD Program in Linguistics at the CUNY Graduate Center has TWO
openings:
1. Assistant or junior Associate Professor in Syntax.
2. Assistant or junior Associate Professor in Semantics.
These are tenure-track positions. Appointment with tenure is possible for
qualified candidates. Start date: Fall 2015 semester.

Responsibilities: teaching core courses and seminars in syntax or
semantics/pragmatics at the graduate level, supervision of student research
leading to the MA thesis or Ph.D. dissertation; carrying out a successful and
original research program.  

A Ph.D. in Linguistics is required by time of appointment, as is evidence of
scholarly productivity and ability of graduate level teaching and supervision.

We are interested in candidates with a secondary research profile in one or
more of the following:
- Heritage language studies
- Minority or understudied languages
- Experimental or computational approaches
- Language variation and change

The positions are open until filled, with review to begin January 5, 2015 
In addition to a CV and a cover letter, the application must include 
1. research statement
2. teaching statement
3. names of four referees
