Focus: The LANCHART Centre and the Department of Nordic Research at the University of Copenhagen invite applicants for a PhD winter school in sociolinguistics.
Minimum Education Level: MA


Description:
The overall theme for the course is sociolinguistics, and the participants
will gain insights into different research fields within contemporary
sociolinguistics. Focus is on newer developments in sociolinguistics, and we
will look into concepts like reflexivity, stance, authenticity, indexicality,
and normativity. We will discuss these issues both from a theoretical and an
empirical perspective. 

Teachers will be:

Nik Coupland (University of Copenhagen, University of Technology Sydney,
Cardiff University)
Scott Kiesling (University of Pittsburgh)
Marie Maegaard (University of Copenhagen)
Janus Spindler Møller (University of Copenhagen)
Valelia Muni Toke (the Institute for Research on Development, SeDyL, Paris)
