Description:

The National Council of Less Commonly Taught Languages (NCOLCTL) invites proposals for NFMLTA - NCOLCTL Research Award in the fields of Applied Linguistics and Language Education with small grants aimed primarily at the graduate students at the dissertation data-gathering and writing stages. 

The purpose of the grants is to provide resources to support research in the field of second language teaching and learning of less commonly taught languages (all languages except English, Spanish, French, and German).

The award amount is $500. Awardees will need to join the NCOLCTL. The awards will be conferred at the Walton Award Dinner (a part of the annual NCOLCTL conference) on Saturday, April 25 at at the Hilton Hotel, Washington - Dulles Airport, VA (greater DC area). The awardees are strongly encouraged to attend this event.

How to Apply:
A complete application includes: 
- applicant's contact information;
- two-page (500-word) application letter detailing the research and the envisaged use of the award;
- two-page (500-word) curriculum vitae (CV).
Proposals should be submitted electronically as pdf attachments to the editor of the JNCOLCTL, at danko.sipka at asu.edu (with a cc to secretariat at ncolctl.org). 
Proposals will be evaluated by the NFMLTA - NCOLCTL Awards Committee. Applicants should expect to be notified within a month of application submission.
Awardees will receive a check in the amount of $ 500. Their names will be announced on the web page of the NCOLCTL and in the journal's spring issue.
