Abstract:

The book Project Method in Teaching Polish as a Foreign Language: From theory
to practice, edited by Ksymena Filipowicz-Tokarska, focuses on the issues
related to teaching Polish as a foreign language using the project method. The
topics comprised in the publication have been divided into two groups. The
first part proposes the processive approach to the project method, showing the
possibilities of transformations related to its application. The second part
of the book presents the texts written by academic teachers who use the
project method in their work. The distinguishing feature of the presented
ideas is their diversity, which prompted the choice of teaching materials. We
will find here texts on theatre and culture projects, an original idea of so
called Philological May Meetings inspired by gelodidactics, as well as a
proposal to apply the discussed method in teaching hearing impaired persons.
