Meeting Description:

SaRDiS 2015

Saarbrücken Roundtable of Dialect Syntax
Saarbrücker runder Tisch für Dialektsyntax

Date: November 6/7, 2015

Goals:

In the last years, theoretically informed research on syntax of different varieties of German has gained momentum. In this symposium, which is held on a regular basis, we want to bring together researchers in this field and offer a forum for this line of research. This concept has proven to be fruitful on last year’s meeting, out of which a special issue of the journal ZDL is emerging. The conference languages will be German and English.

Call for Papers:

We invite contributions on syntactic research on contemporary or historical dialects or other varieties of German or closely related languages (e.g. Letzeburgish, Cimbrian). The talks should treat the data from a theoretically informed perspective. Please send a one-page abstract (Times New Roman, 12 dpi, 1 inch margins) plus 1 page for examples and references in pdf format to sardis at uni-saarland.de. Deadline is March 31, 2015.

Speaking Time: 30 min + 15 min discussion
