Meeting Description:

The Forum for Arabic Linguistics conference [رواق العربية] will be held at the University of Essex on 28-30 July 2015. The conference is jointly sponsored by the Department of Language and Linguistics at the University of Essex and the Department of Language and Linguistic Science at the University of York.

The aim of this international conference is to provide a forum for academic and scholarly exchange on the linguistics of the Arabic language family, for researchers from across Europe and the Middle East, and beyond.

Final Call for Papers:

We are pleased to announce a short extension to the abstract submission deadline, due to a number of conference deadlines falling around the same time.

Extended abstract submission deadline: 7 February 2015

In addition we are pleased to announce that we will be able to offer a number of student bursaries (in the form of a conference registration fee waiver). Further information will be provided at the same time as acceptance notification.

Forum for Arabic Linguistics [رواق العربية] welcomes the submission of abstracts in all areas of Arabic linguistics: phonetics, phonology, syntax, semantics, morphology, dialectology, sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, conversation analysis, historical linguistics, language acquisition, psycholinguistics and computational linguistics. 

Abstracts should be written in English and should not exceed 500 words. In addition, references and/or figures may optionally be included, but should not exceed two pages of A4 (or US 'Letter'). Please submit your abstract in pdf format.

Your abstract should be anonymous. You will be asked to submit a version with your name and affiliation on it if your abstract is selected for presentation. 

Please make sure that you do not use your name in the filename for your abstract, and please erase any details which might identify you in the file that you submit. 

Use one word from the title of your abstract as the filename.
