Meeting Description:

The Workshop on prosodic development is a satellite workshop which will take place on the day before PaPE (Phonetics and Phonology in Europe), 28th of June 2015. For more information on these and other workshops, see the following webpage:

http://www.ling.cam.ac.uk/pape/?page=satelliteworkshops

Goals of the Workshop:

The main goal of this workshop is to advance our knowledge of the role of prosody in first language development both from a perception and a production point of view, and with a special focus on the interactional value of prosody.

The workshop is intended to provide a forum for discussion between researchers who approach the acquisition of prosody from different disciplines (e.g. linguistics, audiology, psycholinguistics, psychology, and cognitive neuroscience), and with different methodologies.

Workshop Format:

A number of key papers will explore the theme of the workshop from different angles, complemented by poster presentations that add breadth or depth to the discussion.

2nd Call for Papers:

Abstract Guidelines:

Abstracts should be written in English and not exceed 500 words. In addition, references, examples and/or figures can optionally be included, but should not exceed two pages of A4. Font: Times New Roman, 12pt; Line spacing: single; Margins: 2,5cm.

One copy of the abstract must be sent anonymously and another one with the author’s name(s), e-mail address(es), and affiliation(s). In the latter, camera-ready copy, the first line of the abstract should contain the title of the paper in boldface, the second line the author’s name(s), the third line the affiliation(s) and the fourth line the email address(es). A blank line should be left between the title lines and the abstract text.

Authors may submit an abstract as first author and up to 2 abstracts as a co-author. This submission is independent from the one in the main PaPE conference. Authors who have submitted their abstract on this topic to the main conference, and wish to present their paper(s) in this workshop instead will have the opportunity to do so, subject to timetabling constraints.

Abstract(s) may be sent in PDF formats to any of the three workshop organizers:

Sónia Frota sonia.frota at mail.telepac.pt
Elinor Payne elinor.payne at phon.ox.ac.uk
Pilar Prieto pilar.prieto at upf.edu
