SOLE was founded in 1992 by students of the Holland Institute of Generative Linguistics and is currently based at Leiden University Centre for Linguistics. More information about SOLE, previous ConSOLEs, as well as the ConSOLE proceedings online can be found at the SOLE webpage (http://www.hum.leiden.edu/lucl/research/SOLE/).

Call for Papers:

York St John University and University of York, 6-8 January 2016

The 24th edition of the Conference of the Student Organisation of Linguistics in Europe will be held at York St John University in collaboration with the University of York from 6-8 January 2016. ConSOLE aims to showcase the best papers in linguistics by students throughout Europe and the rest of the linguistics community worldwide.

Graduate students and advanced undergraduates are invited to submit abstracts for oral presentations (30 minutes plus 10 minutes for discussion) and poster presentations. Students submitting must not have defended their PhD before 1 January 2016.

This year’s ConSOLE will be the first to feature parallel sessions, so we hope to be able to accept even more high-quality abstracts than in previous years. We also hope to extend the scope of the conference by representing more subfields of linguistics than ever before.

We welcome submissions in all subfields of linguistics, including but not limited to syntax, semantics, phonology, morphology, phonetics, pragmatics, language acquisition, psycholinguistics, computational linguistics, forensic linguistics, sociolinguistics, conversation analysis, discourse analysis, historical linguistics, language policy, clinical linguistics and applied linguistics.

We particularly encourage submissions in fields which have been underrepresented in the past, such as sociolinguistics, conversation analysis, pragmatics and language in use.

The deadline for submission is 31 August 2015.

Submission Policies:

- Submissions may be singly or jointly authored. Any single author may submit up to two papers, including no more than one single authored and one jointly authored paper.
- Submissions may not exceed 2 pages including keywords, references, examples and figures.
- Submissions must be anonymous and not contain any identifying information.
- Submissions must adhere to the following format: A4, single-spaced, 11pt font, 2.5cm/1in margins submitted as a .pdf.
- Please indicate whether your abstract should be considered for oral presentation, poster presentation, or for both.
- The working language of the conference is English; all abstracts, posters and presentations must be given in English.
- Abstracts must be submitted via the EasyChair link (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=console24) for ConSOLE XXIV.

Please note that submission to the ConSOLE proceedings are separately administered. Information will be provided about this after the conference.
