Description:

The Department of Linguistics at the University of Kansas invites applications for a non-tenure track, limited-term appointment of two academic years for a Visiting Assistant Professor position to begin as early as August 18, 2015.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. or ABD in Linguistics or a closely related field, with a specialization in Syntax expected by the start date of the appointment.  The successful candidate should demonstrate excellence in teaching as well as a strong record of research in syntax. Expertise in a related area such as field methods or typology is preferred. The teaching load is three courses per semester, including Introductory Linguistics and more specialized courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
