Subject: Code-switching: Italian-English Bilingual Children

I am a PhD Student at the University of Calabria. I would like to receive some
help on my research. The study deals with Italian-English bilingual children
and code-switching.

I need bilingual families living in Calabria (Italy); the parents will be
required to answer a questionnaire on language use, while the children (aged
7-11 and speaking Italian and English regularly on a daily basis) will be
required to perform two game-like activities.

The first one is an acceptability task on code-switched dialogues recorded in
16 cartoons, to be perfeormed by using a five-grade smileys and flags scale.
The second activity is a picture description game: the child will be asked to
choose one (or more) of the sixteen cartoons and he/she will have to describe
in detail the scene that is going on in it.

These activities can take place in a quiet, familiar environment (at home or
another location which is preferable to the parents). The whole session
(game-like activity and parental interview) will be audio-recorded and it will
be completed in approximately 30 minutes.
