Meeting Description:

The University of Rouen will be organizing the Second International Conference on Grammaticalization Theory and Data on April 25-27April 2016. A workshop on transcategoriality will be organized on April 27, 2016, conducted by Bernd Heine and Gunther Kaltenbök.

Plenaries: Prof. Olga Fischer, University of Amsterdam ; Prof. Bernd Heine, University of Cologne ; Prof. Ekkehard König, Free University of Berlin.

2nd Call for Papers:

Since the 1980s grammaticalization theory has emerged as a key theory to understand and explain language change. The examination of constant new empirical data has contributed to enrich and refine the theoretical framework. The purpose of this conference is to continue to explore the various facets of grammaticalization by proposing state-of-the-art papers not only in traditional areas of grammaticalization but also on innovative phenomena. New research on the following topics is specially welcome: grammaticalization and constructions; grammaticalization and gradualness and/or gradience; grammaticalization and (inter)subjectification; grammaticalization and prosody; grammaticalization and peripheral markers.

Time for Papers: 20 minutes, plus 10 minutes for questions. 
Conference Languages: English and French

Submission Procedure:

Abstracts should be anonymous and no more than one side of A4, including references. They should be sent to the following address in PDF format: smhttiki at hotmail.com

Please include the following information in the main body of your email: title and name of author(s); affiliation; email address for correspondence; presentation title; 3-5 keywords. Specify in the body of your message if you apply to the general session or the workshop.

Submission Deadline: August 31, 2015 
Notification of acceptance will be sent to the authors by the end of September 2015.
