Meeting Description:

Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin & Russian Cognitive Linguists Association announce All-Russian scientific conference with international participation ''Problems of modern linguistics: at the interface of cognition and communication'' to be held on the 25-26 June 2014 in Tambov, Russia.

Problems to be discussed:

1. Theoretical and methodological problems in studying linguistic cognition
2. The problem of mental representations and mental spaces
3. New technologies and the problem of cognitive modelling
4. The problem of conceptualization and categorization
5. The problem of cognition and communication. Social cognition
6. Cognitive aspects of discourse. The problem of multidiscursive
7. The problem of analysis of computer-mediated communication, virtual discourse

Call for Papers:

We welcome proposals for papers dedicated to theoretical and methodological problems in studying linguistic cognition, to the problems of cognitive modelling, mental representations and mental spaces, cognition and communication, social cognition, cognitive aspects of discourse, and computer-mediated communication.

Electronic versions of the abstracts and information about the author should be sent to e-mail: lingvo.tsu at mail.ru; ephil.tsu.tmb at mail.ru

The file with an abstract for publication should be titled in the name of the participant, use Latin letters: ivanov_abstract.
The file with author’s information should be titled in the name of the participant, use Latin letters: ivanov_appl.

Information about the author should include:

1. Surname, Name, Second name in the Russian and English languages.
2. Scientific degree, scientific title, position in the Russian and English languages.
3. Place of work (full name) in the Russian and English languages.
4. Topic of paper in the Russian and English languages.
5. Form of participation (full-time, part-time).
6. Need for hotel reservation.
7. Postal and e-mail address, Home phone. Email address is required.
8. Need for technical resources.

Guidelines for Abstracts Submission:

Format – Microsoft Word, Times New Roman Cyr, font 14, 1 line spacing, margins – 2 centimeters, 1 cm indention.
Length – no more than 2 pages (for doctors of Philology - no more than 4 pages).
Paper layout – initials and surname of the author, name of the city and country (in brackets) should be written in bold and italics in the right hand corner; the title should be typed in CAPITAL LETTERS on the lower line and centered.
Page footnotes are not allowed. References – only square brackets should be used to give references in the text (e.g. [Talmy 2000: 28]). At the end of the paper, a list of cited works should be arranged alphabetically according to the authors’ last names. Please use the word References. It should be written in bold and italics and centered.
