Meeting Description:

The 15th Annual International Symposium on Processability Approaches to Language Acquisition (PALA) will be organized by Østfold University College in Halden, Norway, 18 September – 19 September, 2015. PALA 2015 will cover a wide range of topics related to current research on Processability Theory and Second Language Acquisition included theoretical, empirical and applied issues.

The symposium is open to everyone, with no participation fees.

Keynote Speakers:

Silvina Montrul, University of Illinois             
Jörg-Ulrich Keßler, Pädagogische Hochschule Ludwigsburg

Call for Papers:

You are kindly invited to submit proposals for papers and posters related to Processability Theory and second language acquisition research.

Possible topics include:

- Comparing L1 and L2 acquisition
- Transfer
- Complexity
- Incomplete acquisition
- Cross-linguistic comparisons
- Specific Language Impairment
- Bilingual acquisition
- Heritage language and incomplete acquisition

 Guidelines for Submission:

- Indicate if paper or poster
- Title of the paper or poster, and abstract of 300 words (excluding references and title)

-  Name and affiliation of the author(s)
-  First author's postal and e-mail addresses

Please send your submission to: pala15 at hiof.no

All submissions will be reviewed anonymously and evaluated in terms of originality, clarity, and significance of findings and conclusions.

Papers will be allocated 20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion. Poster sessions will be prominently programmed, and no parallel activities will be organised. The review criteria are the same for papers and posters.
