Meeting Description:

The goal of this seminar is to bring together experts in quantitative approaches to the Russian language, including (but not restricted to) statistical analysis and data visualization. We especially encourage presentations focusing on evaluation of statistical methods and mathematical models of language processing and analysis as applied to Russian-language data. Extended versions of seminar presentations will be peer-reviewed and submitted for publication (presumably in the Slavica Helsingiensia series).

Seminar venue: University of Helsinki, Department of Modern Languages, address: Unioninkatu 40, room 22.

The seminar is organized in cooperation with New Developments in the Quantitative Study of Languages Symposium, (Helsinki, August, 28-29, 2015). Participation in the seminar is free of charge, but those wishing to attend the Symposium need to pay a participation fee (for more information see http://www.linguistics.fi/quantling-2015; email: quantling-2015 at helsinki.fi).

Call for Papers:

The working languages of the seminar are Russian and English.

Abstracts of no more than 500 words, excluding data and references, should be submitted by email to daria.kormacheva at helsinki.fi by April 11, 2015. Notifications of acceptance will be announced by May 15, 2015.
