Description:

BNU-HKBU United International College (UIC), located in Zhuhai and founded
jointly by Beijing Normal University and Hong Kong Baptist University, is the
first full-scale collaboration between academic institutions from mainland
China and Hong Kong. Based on a holistic development approach, UIC aims to
produce graduates with an international perspective, who are fluent in both
English and Chinese, and who have knowledge and experience of China, Hong Kong
and the world at large. UIC started operation in October 2005 and offers
undergraduate courses in three academic divisions: Business & Management,
Humanities & Social Sciences, and Science & Technology. The College offers
subjects in liberal studies for all students and the medium of instruction is
English. The College now invites applications for Associate
Professor/Assistant Professor in Teaching English as a Second Language, which
is expected to be filled in September 2015.

Applicants who can teach courses related to Language and Society, English as a
World Language, and New Media Literacies are welcome. The appointee also needs
to supervise Language-teaching Practicum. Project supervision experience is
desirable.

Applicants should hold a PhD degree in a related discipline and should be
committed to excellence in teaching and undergraduate education. Research
interests and experience are desirable.

Appointment Terms:

Appointment to these positions will initially be made on a fixed-term contract
of two years. Salary will be highly competitive, in accordance with
qualifications and experience. Benefits include medical insurance and housing
allowance. Re-appointment after the first contract is subject to mutual
agreement.
