The Journal of Modern Languages (JML) is a semi-annually peer-reviewed journal
published by the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics at the University of
Malaya. Founded in 1985 at the University of Malaya, the JML is dedicated to
the publication of significant research findings of an empirical, experimental
or conceptual nature in the broad field of modern language studies.

The JML welcomes papers addressing critical analyses of modern languages from
various disciplines including, but not limited to:

- General Linguistics 
- Cognitive Linguistics
- Corpus Linguistics
- Discourse and conversational analyses
- Language maintenance and death 
- Language pedagogy
- Psycholinguistics 
- Sociolinguistics 
- Translation and interpretation
