Meeting Description:

The University of Edinburgh Linguistics and English Language Postgraduate Conference (LEL PG) is an annual event, where postgraduates showcase their research, receive feedback, and network. This year’s conference will be held on 3rd–5th June 2015. Having reached the 21st year of the conference this year, all students of Linguistics, English language and related disciplines are invited to join us for this special occasion.

The conference offers a great opportunity to refine thoughts, share concerns and receive constructive criticism in a supportive and convivial environment. Additionally, it provides an opportunity to gain experience in conference presentation and find out about some of the exciting things going on in the field. Attendance at the conference is free.

2nd Call for Papers:

We are now accepting submissions for oral presentations and posters. The standard length of a talk will be 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of questions. Papers relevant to Linguistics and English Language are welcome and submissions by both University of Edinburgh and external students are highly encouraged. Tea and coffee will be provided on all three days, and there will also be a conference dinner in the evening of the 4th June (details to follow).

To apply, please submit an abstract (maximum 500 words in .pdf format, references do not count toward the word limit) by email to http://www.lel.ed.ac.uk/~pgc/submission.html, no later than midnight on 10 April 2015.

Further information can be found at the LEL PG Conference website: http://www.lel.ed.ac.uk/~pgc/. Should you require any further information, the organisers can be contacted at lel-pgc at ed.ac.uk.
