Meeting Description:

The Institute for Linguistic Studies, Russian Academy of Sciences (ILS RAS), will hold the international conference “Uralic languages: synchrony and diachrony”, dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Dmitry V. Bubrikh and the 100th anniversary of Boris A. Serebrennikov. The conference will take place on October 15–17, 2015, at the Institute for Linguistic Studies, St. Petersburg.

The meeting will focus on the topics studied by Bubrikh and Serebrennikov. These topics include, but are not restriced, to the problems of the historical evolution, dialectology and areal contacts of the Uralic languages, as well as to the description of various aspects of their structure.

The working languages of the conference are Russian and English. There is no conference fee.

Call for Papers:

The deadline for abstract submission is June 1, 2015. Abstracts should be no longer than two pages (3600 characters, including examples and references) and should be sent as .pdf and .doc attachments to the following address uralica.spb at gmail.com.

Notifications of acceptance / rejection will be sent before July 1, 2015. 

Participants will be allotted 20 minutes for presentation plus 10 minutes for discussion.
