Description:

Applications are invited for a Lecturer level position in Linguistics in the School of Cultures, Languages and Linguistics. This appointment is a limited-term position for 2 years, from 1 February 2016.

You will be expected to teach and coordinate undergraduate and postgraduate courses in linguistics, including Introduction to Linguistics, Research Methods, and Language, Mind and Society. You will also be expected to supervise postgraduate students and to contribute actively to the research culture of Linguistics and the School of Cultures, Languages and Linguistics.

You will have a PhD in Linguistics with a proven track record of research and teaching at the university level. Experience coordinating a large undergraduate lecture course is required, as is research expertise.  A broad knowledge of General Linguistics is preferred, as is a special interest in one or more of the following areas: language documentation, typology, morphology, sociolinguistics, functional syntax, Pacific languages.  Experience teaching at the postgraduate level is desirable.
