Meeting Description:

The 24th Japanese/Korean Linguistics Conference will be held on October 14–16, 2016, at the National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics (NINJAL) in Tachikawa, Tokyo, Japan. The conference provides a forum for researchers in any subﬁeld of linguistics to present their work on Korean and/or Japanese.

Call for Abstracts: 

We welcome abstract submissions for 20-minute presentations followed by 10 minutes for discussion. The deadline for abstract submission is May 15, 2016. Authors will be notified in early July. 

- Contributions to any aspect of Japanese/Korean linguistics, or comparison of these languages with other languages, are welcome. 
- Authors may be the first or sole author of at most one abstract, and may be a non-first co-author of any number of abstracts. 
- The research presented in the abstract must be new. Please do not present research that has already been published/presented or is scheduled to be published/presented. Please also make your abstract anonymous, to the extent possible.
- The maximum length for an abstract is 2 pages (A4 or US letter size), including tables, figures, and references. Abstract text must be in English, in a 12-point or larger font. Please embed your examples in the main text, rather than putting all of them together on the second page.

- Please enter the title of your presentation.
- Keywords: Please enter some keywords that would help us find appropriate reviewers
- Topics: please choose one or two of the following eight categories for your abstract: (1) phonetics/phonology, (2) morphology/lexical semantics, (3) formal syntax, (4) formal semantics, (5) cognitive/functional syntax/semantics, (6) discourse/pragmatics/sociolinguistics, (7) historical linguistics, (8) psycholinguistics
- Presentation mode: Please choose your preference: oral and/or poster. Note that the proceedings volume will only contain those papers that are based on oral presentations.
- Uploads: Please submit your abstract as a PDF file.

As with previous meetings, the proceedings volume will be published by CSLI. The organizing committee members will likely serve as editors. The anticipated deadline for the proceedings volume is February 2017.

The conference venue can accommodate up to 4 satellite workshops. The days available for workshops are Thursday, 13 October, and Monday, 17 October. To propose a satellite workshop, please prepare a brief description (no more than 2 pages) including the following information:

- The workshop title
- The name(s) and affiliation(s) of the organizer(s)
- A 1-paragraph description of the workshop’s purpose
- The date you prefer
- The total amount of time required, from beginning to end
- The expected number of presentations (both oral and poster)
- An estimate of the number of participants
