Meeting Description:

The aim of the conference is to provide a platform for the presentation and discussion of international research on academic language use and academic literacies relevant for a range of educational contexts in the Nordic setting. There is an increasing need for advanced academic skills both in upper secondary and tertiary education, and pupils, students and academic staff are expected to be able to effectively navigate a range of academic settings, both in the local languages and in English. In order to meet these challenges, we need more knowledge of a range of issues related to academic language use, and it is our hope that the conference will provide a forum for exchange of knowledge and will inspire more research in the Nordic context within this important research area.

'Academic Language Use and Academic Literacies from a Multilingual Perspective in Nordic Educational Contexts' is hosted at the Department of English, Germanic and Romance Studies at the University of Copenhagen, 9-11 May 2016.

The conference language is English.
