Baylor seeks to fill the following faculty position in the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures.

Position: Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Spanish

Qualifications: Ph.D., native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English, proven excellence in teaching, and demonstrable commitment to research and publication. Experience in a Spanish-speaking country preferred. The successful candidate will aim to help students achieve greater understanding of the Spanish-speaking world as well as oral proficiency in Spanish. The Department prefers a candidate with demonstrated ability to contribute to curricular innovation, to bridge periods or genres, and/or to engage in interdisciplinary teaching and research. 

Responsibilities: Teach primarily undergraduate and some graduate courses in Spanish. Candidates for tenure-track positions must demonstrate a defined research agenda or promise of substantial research and publications.

Rank and Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
