Meeting Description:

The Fifth International Symposium on Tonal Aspects of Languages (TAL 2016) will be held in Buffalo, NY, from Tuesday May 24 – Friday May 27, 2016. This symposium follows the most recent, very successful TAL 2014 conference, held in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. It will be held in downtown Buffalo at the University at Buffalo’s Educational Opportunity Center, located near the downtown theater district, local restaurants, and the newly-renovated Buffalo waterfront. TAL 2016 is conveniently timed before Speech Prosody 2016, which will be held in Boston from Tuesday May 31 – Friday June 3, 2016.

Satellite meeting proposal deadline: 01-Nov-2015

The Fifth International Symposium on Tonal Aspects of Languages (TAL 2016) will be held in Buffalo, NY, from Tuesday May 24 – Friday May 27, 2016. It will be held in downtown Buffalo at the University at Buffalo’s Educational Opportunity Center, located near the downtown theater district, local restaurants, and the newly-renovated Buffalo waterfront.

We are currently inviting proposals for satellite meeting(s) to be held on May 24th, 2016. To propose your satellite meeting, please submit a two-page brief description of the event, including:

- The meeting’s title
- The name(s) and affiliation(s) of the organizer(s)
- A description of the meeting’s structure, purpose and goals
- Total meeting length
- An estimated number of participants
- A 100-word abstract for publicity purposes

Please submit your proposal via email in PDF format by November 1, 2015 to tal2016 at buffalo.edu. Initial workshop acceptance notifications will be sent via email by November 15, 2015. If your proposal is accepted, please understand that the organizers of TAL2016 will provide meeting space and on-site technical support; satellite meeting organizers are responsible for all other aspects of their proposed meetings (e.g., planning, budget, publicity, etc.).
