Meeting Description:

The Second Language Acquisition and Teaching (SLAT) Student Association cordially invites student and faculty participation at the 15th Annual SLAT Interdisciplinary Roundtable at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona.

Plenary Address:
Dr. Senta Goertler, Michigan State University

Call for Proposals:

SLAT Roundtable 2016

Important Dates:

Roundtable Dates: February 26-27, 2016
Submission Deadline: November 15, 2015
Notification Schedule: early January, 2016

Submissions may include but are not limited to language pedagogy, language assessment, program administration, language planning and policy, literacies, language use, sociolinguistics, pragmatics, language processes, cognitive sciences, psycholinguistics, language analysis, discourse analysis, multilingualism, heritage languages, gaming, language learning and technology, as well as those that bridge these.

Submissions are open to the public. Limit of one submission per person, please. 
 
Presentation:

A formal talk addressing a small audience of up to 30 participants. May be an original empirical research as well as an original theoretical investigation. May include one or more presenters.
30 minutes (20 minutes talk/10 minutes Q&A)

Panel Presentation:

Students (especially pre-dissertation) are encouraged to create panels of 3 to discuss different perspectives on complex issues in second language studies. Should establish a brief theoretical framework before beginning discussions of specific studies.
80 minutes (20 minutes each/20 minutes Q&A)
 
Poster:

A visual representation of research. May include materials such as data, graphs, diagrams, pictures, and text. Presenters will have a chance to discuss their research during a designated poster session. Awards will be given for posters at the end of the Roundtable.

Workshop:

A practical demonstration of a theory or an application of a pedagogical method or research. The presenter engages and involves the audience through experiential learning techniques. May include more than one presenter.
