Description:

The Department of English Studies, Sophia University, invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor (five-year appointment) or Associate Professor (tenured). The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. in theoretical or applied linguistics and be able to teach English language courses as well as undergraduate and graduate courses in linguistics, including syntax.  The candidate will also be expected to have native or near-native Japanese ability in order to carry out administrative duties.
