Meeting Description:

The Fifth International Congress of Applied Linguistics Today – New Tendencies in Theory and Practice is going to be held on 27–29 November 2015, in Novi Sad, Serbia. The general theme of the conference is focused on, but not limited to, the following topics: theoretical frameworks in applied linguistics, empirical research in applied linguistics, contrastive analysis and applied linguistics, applied linguistics and new technologies, applied linguistics and interdisciplinary research (applied ethnolinguistics, applied geolinguistics, applied anthropolinguistics, etc.), and literacy in the 21st century, cross-curricular teaching and learning (language and literature, history, biology, etc.).

Registration Fee:

- For ALAS members: 60 €
- For other participants: 80 €

Payments can be made in euros or dinars. The registration fee covers the following: certificate of attendance, conference materials, refreshments during coffee breaks, lunch on Saturday and proceedings publication costs.

Call for Papers:

Abstracts of 200–250 words, in English, French, German, Russian, Italian, Spanish or one of the official languages of the former Yugoslavia (including minority languages of Vojvodina) should be be sent as a Word or PDF attachment to the following address: dpls.alas5 at gmail.com.

Please write “Abstract ALT 5” in the subject line, and include the following information in the body of the message (the attached abstract should not contain any data that would identify the author):

1. Author’s (and co-author’s) name and surname
2. Title of the paper
3. Author’s (and co-author’s) affiliation
4. Author’s (and co-author’s) email address

Presentation slots will be 30 minutes (20-minute presentation, followed by a 10-munute discussion).

The deadline for submission of abstracts is October 1, 2015. Notification of acceptance will be given by 1 October.
