Description:

Applications are being accepted for a full-time postdoctoral research
scientist position in the Perception, Action, and Language (PAL) lab directed
by Craig Chambers at the University of Toronto Mississauga. Applicants must
have a Ph.D. in a relevant field of study (e.g., Psychology, Linguistics,
Cognitive Science), excellent writing skills, and advanced training in
experimental design and statistics. Special attention will be given to
candidates with expertise in semantic and pragmatic aspects of real-time
referential interpretation. Expertise in spoken language eye tracking
methodologies, ERP methodologies, and/or cognitive aging would also be a
benefit.

The successful candidate will become a member of the Human Communication (HC)
group in the Psychology Department at the University of Toronto Mississauga:

Starting salary will be $40,000. Initial funding will be provided for one
year, but an additional year of funding may be possible. The candidate will
participate in a research program exploring aspects of real-time spoken
language interpretation in adults:

Although the position does not entail teaching obligations, it is possible
that opportunities to gain teaching experience could be arranged. 

Interested candidates should submit a CV, a short statement of interest (<500
words), a sample first-authored publication, and the names of two potential
referees. Reference letters will only be requested from shortlisted

although a date in the near future would be preferred. International
candidates with strong English language skills are encouraged to apply.
