We are now recruiting for a part-time (0.5 FTE) Research
Assistant/Administrator to work on Death Before Birth, a project funded by the
ESRC and led by Dr Danielle Fuller (University of Birmingham) in collaboration
with Professor Jeannette Littlemore (University of Birmingham) and Dr Sheelagh
McGuinness (University of Bristol). The project is a socio-legal, linguistic
study of how people in England who have experienced miscarriage, termination,
and stillbirth reach decisions concerning the disposal of the remains of
pregnancy, how their perceptions of the law impact on their decision-making,
and how they communicate their experiences and choices to those who are there
to support them. The project will explore the ways in which metaphor is used
by those who have experienced miscarriage, termination, and stillbirth, and
those who support them. Our project partners are: The Human Tissue Authority,
SANDS, the Miscarriage Association and Ante-natal Results and Choices. The
project team will be working closely with these agencies which are both
participants in and beneficiaries of the study.

The post is part-time (0.5 FTE) for 23 months and will start in September
2016. The post holder will be based at the University of Birmingham’s
Edgbaston campus. The successful candidate will provide administrative support

resourceful, flexible, well-organised and able to work independently and as
part of a team. They will have good communication and IT skills, and must be

as such can receive donations through the eLinguistics Foundation,
which is a registered 501(c) Non Profit organization. Our Federal
Tax number is 45-4211155. These donations can be offset against
your federal and sometimes your state tax return (U.S. tax payers only).
For more information visit the IRS Web-Site, or contact your financial
advisor.

Many companies also offer a gift matching program, such that
they will match any gift you make to a non-profit organization.
Normally this entails your contacting your human resources department
and sending us a form that the eLinguistics Foundation fills in and
returns to your employer. This is generally a simple administrative
procedure that doubles the value of your gift to LINGUIST, without
costing you an extra penny. Please take a moment to check if
your company operates such a program.

Thank you very much for your support of LINGUIST!
