Meeting Description:

The 18th Seoul International Conference on Generative Grammar (SICOGG 18) will
take place at Sogang University, Seoul, Korea, from Tue., August 2 through
Fri., August 5, 2016. The conference will be co-hosted by the Korean
Generative Grammar Circle and Sogang University. SICOGG 18 will consist of a
general session, two workshops, and a series of lectures by the keynote
speaker. The theme of the general session is ‘Beyond Core Syntax: A Minimalist
Approach.’ The confirmed keynote speaker is Professor Mark de Vries of the
University of Groningen, and the theme of his talk is ‘Beyond Core Syntax: On
Appositive and Additional Material.’

2nd Call for Papers: 

DEADLINE EXTENDED!! (May 2, 2016)

General Session:

The purpose of the general session is to provide an opportunity to rethink
topics on appositive and additional material beyond core syntax in recent
minimalist theorizing, which may include, but need not be limited to, the
right dislocation and afterthoughts, the integration/orphanage debate
concerning parentheticals, the properties of appositive clauses and phrases,
the proleptic accusative, exceptional case marking, embedded hanging topics,
the constructional typologies of coordination, parenthesis, ellipsis, the
structure building operations, and so forth. We encourage submissions touching
on any of these topics. Equal consideration will be given to papers from all
areas of generative grammar, which may include syntactic theory,
syntax-semantics interface, syntax-morphology interface, syntax-phonology
interface, syntactic acquisition, and any other syntax-related interests.
Applicants for presentation in the general session must submit their proposal
by Mon., May 2, 2016.

Abstract Submission Guidelines:

Abstracts should be submitted using the EasyAbs service of the LINGUIST List.
All you need to do is visit: http://linguistlist.org/easyabs/sicogg18 and
click on Abstract Submission. Then, follow the online guidelines to upload
your abstract in either .pdf or .doc format. Note, however, that the .doc
format is acceptable only if the abstract contains no special fonts or
diagrams. Only electronic submissions through the aforementioned link will be
considered. Abstracts should be anonymous and may not exceed 2 pages (A4/US
letter), including examples and references (embed examples within the text),
with 2.54 cm (1 inch) margin on all four sides and should employ the font
Times New Roman 12 pts. Submissions are limited to a maximum of one individual
and one joint abstract per author. Abstracts should be submitted no later than
Mon.,May 2, 2016. Authors will be notified of acceptance or rejection on or
after Fri., June 10, 2016. Each speaker of the general session will be
allotted 20 minutes followed by 10 minutes for discussion.

Review result notification: On or after Fri., June 10, 2016
Proceedings paper submission deadline: Fri., July 15, 2016
