Description:

- Hold a doctoral degree with a dissertation in Translation Studies,
Linguistics, Language and Literature Studies or an equivalent degree. The
degree requirements need to be fulfilled at the start of your appointment;
- Have a command of Turkish at the C2 level of the CEFR (Common European
Framework) or as a native speaker;
- You have already conducted research within the field of (foreign) language
acquisition and didactics or multilingual communication, which is reflected in
chapters in books and national and international scientific journals that are
widely disseminated and rely on experts for the evaluation of the submitted
manuscripts;
- You have insight in translation and language teaching didactics with an
interactive, communicative approach.

In addition
- Command of Dutch is recommended;
- Active participation in international scientific conferences is recommended;
- Teaching experience in higher education is recommended.

Your tasks
- At least 70% of your assignment will be devoted to scientific research
related to Turkish in the field of (foreign) language acquisition and
didactics or multilingual communication, in connection with the research
groups GOLLD (http://www.golld.ugent.be/) and INTERCOMM
(http://www.intercomm.ugent.be/);
- You will assist in teaching activities at Bachelor’s and/or Master’s level
in the Turkish section of the Department of Translation, Interpreting and
Communication;
- You will counsel students with their Bachelor’s and Master’s dissertation;
- You will contribute to the section’s activities and cross-sectional projects
related to educational and research activities.
