Description:

The Department of Linguistics at the University of Texas at Austin invites
applications for a position in Computational Linguistics at the rank of either
Assistant Professor (tenure track) or Associate Professor (tenured). The
position will start in Fall 2017.

We invite applicants from all areas of specialization within Computational
Linguistics; we are particularly interested in candidates who use
sophisticated computational techniques to gain insight into the nature and
structure of human language. We encourage collaboration within the department
and with computational linguists in other departments at UT.

The selected candidate will be expected to teach both undergraduate and
graduate courses, develop a strong research program, direct graduate student
research, demonstrate evidence of successful research productivity, and
exhibit a commitment to service to the department, college, and university.

Salary is competitive and dependent on qualifications and experience.  

Qualifications: 

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Computational Linguistics or a related field
or expect it no later than August 2017.  Applicants for appointment as
Associate Professor (tenured) must have a distinguished publication record
suitable for a tenured appointment and a solid record as an effective
classroom teacher at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants
seeking appointment as Assistant Professor (tenure-track), must be able to
demonstrate a successful publishing and research trajectory and show potential
to be an effective classroom teacher at both the undergraduate and graduate
levels.

courses you are prepared to teach, evidence of past teaching performance or
teaching potential, sample of published or other written work, and three

consideration.
