The Faculty of Arts, Kuwait University, invites applications for qualified
Academic Staff Members (Professor or Associate Professor) for the department
of English Language and Literature for the academic year 2016/2017 in the
following departments:
- Comparative Literature (Professor)
- Translation Studies (Professor or Associate Professor)

The following minimum qualifications are required:
- Applicants must have earned all certificates in the area of specialization
from an accredited university in a residential, full-time format.

- Substantial experience in teaching and scientific research in a university
or an academic institution, or in a scientific research center is desired.

- Applicant’s undergraduate grade must be equivalent to very good or higher.

- Applicants for the post of “associate professor” are required to show
evidence of a minimum of five published papers in refereed scholarly journals,
one of which at least must be in an international refereed journal.
International publication requirement does not apply to applicants to the
Arabic Department academic posts.

- Applicants for the post of “professor” are required to show evidence of at
least fifteen scholarly papers published in refereed scientific journals, ten
of which must have been published after obtaining the rank of “associate
professor.” Applicants must also show an active research program. They must
also have at least two international publications in refereed journals, a
condition which does not apply to applicants to the Department of Arabic
academic posts.

- Diplomas and transcripts for both Bachelor and Master degrees
- The equivalency certificates from the Ministry of Higher Education in Kuwait

letterhead)
