Meeting Description:

The Students' Conference of Linguistics in India (SCONLI) is a two day
conference with a one day workshop organized annually by the students of
Linguistics studying at various universities in India. Being a conference
organized completely by the Students of linguistics, SCONLI is unique. It is
not only a platform for many aspiring linguists but also an essential
incubator to nurture the network of young minds with beautiful thoughts about
the various aspects of human languages. This year, SCONLI-11 is being hosted
by the School of Languages and Linguistics, Jadavpur University, India.


Call for Papers:

The conference serves as a platform of scientific exchange for linguists
working on any aspect of language and linguistics. Accordingly, we welcome
contributions which address the issues of languages from the perspectives of
various subdomains of linguistics, such as sociolinguistics, descriptive and
typologically-oriented analyses of phonology and morphosyntax, formal
approaches to the grammar, grammaticalization and historical development,
pragmatics, language acquisition, language contact, and corpus linguistics.
Papers in the newly emergent fields like language and brain, computational
linguistics etc. are also welcomed. While preparing the paper please follow
the unified style sheet for linguistics which can be accessed through the

Representation of the language data must be in consonance with Leipzig
glossing convention for inter-linear morpheme by morpheme glosses. For details
and the list of standard abbreviations consult the following link:

Research articles should not be more than six pages long including
bibliography. Instead of using footnotes, contributors are requested to use
end note options. Participants are requested to submit their initial
submission in pdf version through EasyChair.  Papers should be anonymous for
blind review. Kindly ensure that authors' names and affiliations should not be
mentioned anywhere in the final submission file. If selected, during the final
submission, the source file along with the special fonts if any will be asked
for as ''camera ready paper''.

N.B.: Papers submitted through EasyChair

forms of submission (hard-copy, email attachment etc.) would be entertained.
Acceptance notification: 1 November, 2016
Camera ready paper: 2 December, 2016
