Spring School 2017: From hypothesis to experiment

Focus: The course will focus on how students can go from formulating questions and hypotheses to how they can test their hypotheses.
Minimum Education Level: BA


Special Qualifications:
The participants must be enrolled in a PhD program in linguistics or a related field of study.


Description:
The instructors will lecture on types of experiments, from advanced online
experiments (eye tracking, mouse-tracking, real-time studies) with high
technology tools to offline methods (elicitation, interviews, corpora) with
very little advanced equipment.


Linguistic Field(s): General Linguistics

Tuition: 0 USD

Tuition Explanation: There is no course fee, but participants will have to cover their own travel
and accommodation expenses. (PhD students who are registered at universities
and colleges in the Norwegian LingPhil system can apply for support there.)
