Final Call for Papers:

The deadline for submissions for the annual summer meeting of the Society for
Pidgin and Creole Linguistics has been extended to 31 of December, 2017.

The Society for Pidgin and Creole Linguistics will hold its annual summer
meeting from the 19 through the 22 of June, 2017 in Tampere, Finland, at the
University of Tampere, where it is being co-sponsored with the University of
Turku. Abstracts for twenty-minute presentations on any area pertinent to the
linguistic study of pidgins, creoles, converted languages, mixed languages,
and any other type of contact language are invited for anonymous review.

An abstract of no more than 500 words (not including title or data examples)
should be submitted using EasyAbs. The submission link is
http://linguistlist.org/easyabs/SPCLFinland2017. After your title, clearly
identify the domain(s) of inquiry in which your submission should be reviewed
(e.g. syntax, morphology, phonology, sociolinguistics, acquisition).
Diachronic and corpus research are particularly welcome, as is research
pertaining to translation from and into contact language varieties. Please
refrain from including your name or any other self-identifying information in
your abstract. Individuals who are unable to access EasyAbs should email the
abstract as an MS Word document to spcl2017 at uta.fi. Include ''abstract for
SPCL Finland 2017'' in the subject line. The abstract submission deadline is
December 31, 2016. Acceptance notification will be sent by January 31, 2017.

The organizers are now planning a memorial tribute to distinguished
Trinidadian creolist Mervyn C. Alleyne, and invite contributions and papers
dealing with his impact on creole linguistics.
