Position Summary:

This is a regular, full-time academic teaching position.
Design, develop and deliver excellent learning experience for Language
Education graduate students to assist their pursuit of professional skills and
fulfillment of their career aspirations. Contribute to the advancement of
knowledge and practices in the language teaching profession. Collaborate and
serve to achieve academic excellence.
Teach up to 10 weekly contact hours per semester
Hold weekly office hours
Attend monthly faculty meetings

General Responsibilities:

Responsible for curriculum development and delivery. Be available on campus to
meet with student and colleagues during the academic year. Maintain
professional currency in field of expertise. Directed student supervision.
Student advising. Attendance at faculty meetings. Participate in events and
activities that are essential to the Institute.

Education:

EdD or PhD in Applied Linguistics or TESOL (ABD considered)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated expertise in applied linguistics, including pedagogy and
curriculum, language assessment, and approaches to applied linguistic
research. Familiarity with various types of linguistic research, including
qualitative, quantitative, and mixed method designs
Proven record of teaching excellence as demonstrated in supervisor and peer
observations, student evaluations, original materials, etc.
Strong research agenda
Ability to collaborate effectively as a team member
Ability to work with graduate students from varied linguistic, educational,
and experiential backgrounds

Experience:

Experience in teacher training/teacher supervision
Experience in teaching graduate courses for TESOL and Foreign Language (FL)
teachers
Experience in teaching various graduate level courses in applied linguistics,
including pedagogy and curriculum courses, language assessment, and applied
linguistic research courses.
Experience in program administration
Strong record of publications/presentations
Willingness to participate in curriculum innovation
