Description:

Masters Degree programs in Linguistics 

The Department of Linguistics at the University of Rochester offers programs
leading to a degree at the Masters level and invites applications. Students
choose from among three programs:

- MA in Linguistics 
- MA in Language Documentation and Description (LDD) 
- MS in Computational Linguistics, joint with the Department of Computer
Science. 

The MA in LDD provides training in contemporary methodologies and technologies
of LDD, emphasizing the broad application of these skills in many types of
community work. The MS in Computational Linguistics trains students to be
conversant both in the analysis of language and in computational techniques
applied to natural language. A tuition award (for reduced tuition) is
available to the strongest applicants. Deadline for applications is March 1.
