Description:

The Public Relations Manager is responsible for developing and implementing
effective communication and marketing strategies to help advance the language
revitalization, development, sales, and public policy goals of The Language
Conservancy (TLC) and its affiliate organizations.

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Public Relations Manager
(PRM) is responsible for implementing a diverse set communications priorities.
Duties and responsibilities include: developing and maintaining overall
strategic communication plans; maintaining newsletters, websites, and social
media; generating news releases; promoting news coverage and opinion columns
through traditional and emerging media; coordinating with our public relations
partner on PR and advertising campaigns and placement; and serving as a
spokesperson.

The PRM will work to advance the public awareness of and engagement with The
Language Conservancy and will increase the Conservancy’s national public
presence and outreach. PRM will promote a favorable image of the organization-
its events, issues, and initiatives. The PRM will work closely with the
Development Department, Graphics/Layout team, and Events Coordinator to
support fundraisers and annual fundraising appeals; and will work closely with
the Language Revitalization Department to promote our language revitalization
goals with our constituencies; and with the Sales Department to assist in the
marketing of new products and services. The PRM is responsible for ensuring
that communications tell the full range of the Conservancy’s work through
e-newsletters, websites, video, Facebook, Twitter and other related
promotional media. The PRM will proactively manage and implement new and
ongoing communications initiatives, identify target audiences and write or
implement a variety of communication mediums (stories, op-ed pieces, social
media, videos, television programs, PSA’s, etc.) to communicate and further
the mission and work of The Language Conservancy.
