Meeting Description:

Negation and negativity are key features of human languages. While negation is
a phenomenon of semantic opposition, negativity addresses a broader spectrum
of phenomena. The investigation of the form and meaning of negation and
negativity in natural language is at the heart of many debates in philosophy,
linguistics, logic and psychology. The aim of this interdisciplinary workshop
is to bring together the various perspectives of negation and negativity and
thereby force the interdisciplinary research on negation and negativity in
natural language.

Topics that may be addressed but are not limited to:

- Comprehension of sentential negation with or without context
- Mental representation of negation and negated concepts
- The syntax-semantics interface of negated sentences
- Compositionality of negation
- Negation in formal semantics
- Negation in logic
- Negativity and negative polarity items
- Non-semantic aspects: negation in morphology, syntax and phonology
- Pragmatics of negation and negativity
