Meeting Description:

The Tsakonian Archives, continuing the effort, which has already begun for the
collection, preservation, study and publication of the history, archeology,
linguistics, folklore and other treasure of the Tsakonian people, was decided
to carry out the 8th Conference on the 9 –11 of September 2016  at “ Fabrica
Culture” Conference and Cultural Center in Leonidio.

On September 11 2016 the meeting will be held in Prastos, in order to
contribute to the emergence of Tsakonia.

The subject areas of the Conference are History, Archaeology, Linguistics,
Folklore and Architecture of Tsakonia which in ancient times included Vrasies
- Prasies, Anthini, Orioi, Glyppia, Selinous, Polihni and Marios.


Call for Papers:

The scholars who are interested in participating in the conference are invited
as speakers. They should declare their interest and send the report title, an
abstract up to 500 words and 5–10 key-words to the e-mail: 
info at tsakonianarchives.gr before June 15 2016 in order to be included in the
program that will be delivered with all the other basic supplies to the
participants at the start of the conference.

Before June 30 2016 confirmation of submission will be sent to all
participants.

The subject areas of the Conference are History, Archaeology, Linguistics,
Folklore and Architecture of Tsakonia which in ancient times included Vrasies
- Prasies, Anthini, Orioi, Glyppia, Selinous, Polihni and Marios.

Presentations should last for 15 minutes while the written project, which will
be published in the Proceedings of the Conference and the WEB Site of the
Tsakonian Archives (http://www.tsakonianarchives.gr) may have the extent that
the author considers necessary for the sufficient coverage of the subject. The
paper will be published on the platform of the Tsakonian Archive in electronic
form (doc or ppt). If the investigator considers necessary to cover the
project with a full video presentation or photos, these will be handed in avi
and jpg formats respectively.

The languages of the Conference are Greek, English and Russian.
